Composers should bring along scores and recordings of their works to the Master

Courses. During the Master Courses composers will have the opportunity to compose

a work for various combinations of string, piano and percussion instruments, which

will be prepared and premiered by master course teaching artists -

Andra Dārziņa, Sofija Kirsanova, Ēriks Kiršfelds, Guntars Freibergs and Ieva Šmite.

For their new work, composers will be able to incorporate a musical citation/theme from another

composer's work, as a basis for their composition, thus creating a dialogue across

styles, influences, etc. that might also include experimentation with non-traditional

techniques - open forms, graphic notation, etc.

In Dimitris Maronidis' classes, students will be introduced to the main principles of

electroacoustic music and have the opportunity to create a unique Sigulda sound installation.
